This week end we have been looking around the city for baby ducks, cutting Rory’s hair and moving her apartment from one area to another area, now she has an artist lamp.

Opinions?

Oh yes, and then everybody is all over the elephant that not only is conscent of his shape, and can paint himself, but can also depict himself in imaginary situations.

This is Robert Breer’s most famous film. One of his best.
I know I often say that,
but this film has a delicate mix of visual beauty, sense of rhythm, and the ability to describe the emotional core we carry, and cannot precisely point to.

OH bella!

Yesterday I almost had a heart attack! or what it felt like one. Later Rory called and invited me to this series of concerts organized by the music magazine Les Inrockuptibles that took place in 3 great private appartements dispersed all around the city. It was so well organized it had it’s own shuttle bus to take you from one location to the other!
So “hardcore”.

Native new Beaters, Poney Poney, Koko Von Napoo, Go Go Charlton all played, or did they? Who knows…. Bah.

I took some pictures but the lenses of this camera are compleatly busted, so please forgive the bad quality.

About party photographers: Why so may? Why the Hats?
We use pictures of folks like trading cards. It’s the new magic.

+ That cool t-shirt you see me wearing is designed by the one and only Z.O. for Miauw store in Amsterdam.
++ Rory just bought this guy on the Internet

Dokkemand “Klokka er 76″ (Currently in Production)

Filed under: Experimental Film, Interests, Music Video, music, my work — Lisa Paclet @ 6:48 am

movie-style2again.jpg movie-style.jpg

A Music video for the Norwegian composer Dokkemand, made using abstract animation, treated with a new “in house” experimental rendering technique.

These are design tests, i might put the motion tests up on my website (which almost done!) if people promise not to bee too judgmental, because so far there is no sync with sound or colors or nothing, just outlines and straight ahead mouvment. But i like that. It’s exciting to work on things you like.

Easter bird chunks

Filed under: Hard Times, Music Video, music, my work — Lisa Paclet @ 5:49 am

Immediate Easter Bonus! Jonathan Richman sings: “I’m A Little Dinosaur”

Easter was a partial disaster. We woke up to find one of our birds (the lady) dead and in pieces all around the apartament. Blood, feathers and chunks. Happy MF Easter i said. I know that keeping a huge ass cat and 2 tiny birds in the same house is not smart, but this has not happened before, at least with this new technological cage we have (it shoots lasers).

So the male bird has lost his sister (and his lover) and their little egg all in the same traumatic night, He has not been the same since.
I wonder if buying him a new mate at the market would do; somehow i am sure that even then, love will never be the same for him.

To try and feel better we spent the whole day making pies and eating them, looking at Will frying sauceges, and eating them.
Zachary changed my ring tone from Ludacris’ “Move Bitch” to “Here come the Martian Martians” by lovely mr. Jonathan Richman, which sounds much more friendly and upbeat.

On Monday afternoon I received a phone call from my producer that’s telling me she forgot to mention i had to come up with a concept for a music video for the “nouvelle signature ultra branchée de MODULAR“, (who’s name i won’t mention as of now, if you know it, you do) for the next morning. I got excited because music videos are all i want to do, and quickly wrote a concept, but hey… we’ll see if it happens or not. Why is this business always so last minute?

On other news: I have finally concertize this new rendering style for Dokkeman music video, it has great looks & moves. I wanted to put it up here but after consulting with my business partner i decided not to, because it is still just a test and there is no sync with music yet. But if we’re lucky and i get a faster computer, this video will be finished sooner than later.

Compare & Contrast:
Jonathan Richman’s “Here come the Martian Martianslyrics
Ludacris’ “Move Bitch” lyrics

Hey does anyone has an opinion on the black dot that formed itself on the camera lenses once it got dropped?

Oh yes! Anastasia’s cone-bag was this night’s out great success! Go buy one for your own personal improvement on  the A.K.A. website!

I made a 2nd Moka of coffee and hit my head.

Filed under: Hard Times, Rants — Lisa Paclet @ 6:03 am

I made a 2nd Moka of coffee and hit my head against a cabinet. I also made the wrong coffee, the nasty kind, so now it’s just sitting next to me and no one will drink it. I gotta write an “about page”, drop 1 kilo, bring Illustrator back to life, and take some screenshots, It looks and sounds like a bad day.
Three good things are still happening though:

1_It’s Laetita’s birthday, and she is having a party! She needs a present!
2_I am gonna compose a new gigantic Computer on the Apple online store, a computer that will love batching frames and run them through endless scrips, a computer that will understand everything and will do it fast.
3_Along with Zachary we are working on a new exciting and dynamic website for my films, it is almost done, almost ready to go, it will be complementary to this blog, or rather the contrary.
